MATH 0424 - Basic Math & Intro to Business Math Credits: 4
This course helps students with basic math concepts required to be successful in MATH 1324. Math 0424P Basic Mathematics and Introduction to Business Math is a developmental math course whose topics include order of operations with integers, fractions and real numbers, percent, ratios, and proportions. An introduction to algebra including the simplification and solving of linear equations in one variable along with the use and manipulation of formulas; graphs of linear equations in two variables, slopes, and intercepts; an introduction to functions notation with a focus on linear, quadratic, and exponential functions; operations with polynomials including their addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and basic factoring; and linear inequalities in one variable and two variables. A comprehensive departmental final examination must be passed with a score of 60% or more in order to pass the course.
