Mexican‐American/Latinx Studies - Specialization, I.C.

The Mexican American/Latinx Studies Institutional Certificate is part of the Interdisciplinary Studies, A.A. degree. The specialization is designed to help you understand Mexican American/Latinx culture from different perspectives. It provides a unique foundation for various majors and careers, including elementary education, social and behavioral sciences, criminal justice, and many others. Additionally, for those pursuing degrees or certificates in various workforce and applied science fields, the Mexican American/Latinx Studies certificate enhances your familiarity and understanding of diverse cultures in preparation for employment in an increasingly multi-cultural region. (All courses are core curriculum courses and will transfer as core to all Texas public universities.)
Students may earn one Associate of Arts in one of the specializations. The requirements below must be completed in addition to Field of Study Curriculum the Interdisciplinary Degree requirements in order to complete all program requirements for this specialization.
