The Africana/African American Studies - Specialization Institutional Certificate is part of the Interdisciplinary Studies, A.A. degree. The specialization is designed to help students understand Africana/African American culture and experience from various perspectives and viewpoints. It allows students to examine “Blacks in the Diaspora” and understand the diversity and complexities of these unique people. The Africana/African American Studies Institutional Certificate enhances your familiarity and understanding of diverse cultures in preparation for employment in an increasingly multi-cultural region.
Students may earn one Associate of Arts in one of the specializations. The specialization requirements must be completed in addition to the degree requirements.
