The Cloud Computing & Application Development - Specialization prepares students with skills to produce high-quality sustainable code through all stages of a software life cycle: project planning and estimating, gathering requirements, functional specifications, use case tools, design specifications, coding, testing, integrating, and maintenance. Java is a high-level object-oriented programming language and software development platform. Students learn Java to develop platform-independent applications that can run on a single computer or be distributed among servers and clients in a network. Java is also used to build small application modules (applets) for use on a web page.
