The Welding Technology Associate of Applied Science (AAS) is designed to offer students the necessary skills, technical training related to welding quality, welding metallurgy, and managing complex welding projects for the welding industry. The award embeds the American Welding Society and Schools Excelling Through National Skills Education (SENSE guidelines and specifications) to training student welders for entry-level and advanced welder certifications. The welding industry is fueled by the growth in manufacturing and industrial construction. Specialized skills related to welding metallurgy, welding inspection, and codes/specifications and certifications are in high demand.
