ARTS 1304 - Art History II (14th Century to the Present) Credits: 3
A chronological analysis of the historical and cultural contexts of the visual arts from the 14th century to the present day. This course is a global investigation of the styles and methods of artistic production covering the Renaissance period to Present. Media studied include: drawing, painting, sculpture, architecture, printmaking, textiles, ceramics, metal arts, photography, and digital arts. Using this framework, universal themes are studied within their historical, political, economic, theological, sociological, conceptual and ethnic contexts. ARTS 1303 is not a prerequisite. This course satisfies the fine arts or component area option of the HCC core.
