The Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) Program prepares graduates to provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice registered nurse, physician, physician assistant, podiatrist, or dentist. Graduates acquire the knowledge, clinical judgment, and technical skills necessary to care for patients across the lifespan with predictable healthcare needs in structured healthcare settings. The curriculum integrates classroom instruction, skills laboratory, simulation, and supervised clinical experiences in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and community-based agencies. Emphasis is placed on the development of clinical reasoning, patient-centered care, teamwork and collaboration, communication, and adherence to legal and ethical standards of nursing practice. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to apply for the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical/Vocational Nurses (NCLEX-PN). Upon licensure, graduates are qualified to seek employment as entry-level vocational nurses in acute care, long-term care, and community-based settings.
